Infection Control Considerations
For needle electrodes specifically, single-use disposable is the standard of care in modern clinical practice - reusable needle electrodes carry risks of prion transmission that can't be reliably eliminated by standard sterilization. For surface, disc, and clip electrodes that don't break the skin, reusable options remain widely used, provided your facility follows proper cleaning and disinfection protocols between patients.
